No Offense

No offense… but I hate the phrase “no offense.” It’s such a crooked, backhanded way of people insulting you in which you can’t oppose. Have you ever had someone directly insult you with the defense of “no offense,” followed by scrutiny if you attempt a response? Onlookers are so quick to disparage you afterward, stating that “they said no offense,” and that “they didn’t mean it that way.” Well, no offense to you, but they did mean it, and it is detestable. If you wouldn’t say it unshielded by the phrase of “no offense,” you should keep your mouth shut.
