Stop Giving Tests on Irrelevant Facts
I love learning with a passion. I thoroughly enjoy mentally deliberating the causation and correlation between various historical events, and reading books of all different genres is one of my favorite pastimes. However, when learning involves tests and assignments where there are strictly correct and incorrect answers, it sucks all of the fun out of education. What does it matter if I know the date that Christopher Colombus set sail? Why should I know the names of all the pigs in Animal Farm? As long as a student comprehensively understands material, they shouldn’t have to be tested on inconsequential details.
