Respecting Others Political Views

Everyone has different political views, but why can we respect each others opinions? With the 2020 elections happening right now all I see when I get on social media are people arguing about who everyone should vote for. Everyone is coming at each other in the comments. When reading the comments I question why some of the things were even said. The hate being spread is unnecessary because in the end most people will not change their views over a silly comment someone said on social media. The only way to persuade someone is through facts and the truth.
