Stop Talking During Free Reading Time

The main character in my book is on the verge of death, and I’m on the verge of tears. Then a loud laugh comes from somewhere around the room. Murmuring erupts around the room and soon it turns to loud whispering. I consider myself a chill person but the one thing that gets under my skin is when people start talking during free reading time. It’s annoying to hear loud whispers while I am trying to picture the main character in my book falling off a cliff. Seriously, people are trying to read. Don’t be rude and ruin the mood.
