Day Two: “Noelle” Through the Night
On the second day of Christmas, I watched the Disney+ Original movie “Noelle.”
This movie, starring comics Anna Kendrick and Bill Hader, is kind of wack. The story is all sorts of crazy with its many subplots. There’s a plot that seems like it would be a main plot, but it’s not entirely focused on it. The film centrals more on the extra subplots. The main plot of the movie is Noelle Kringle (Kendrick) has to find her brother, Nick (Hader), before Christmas.
I am not a big fan of movies that bounce around from one subplot to another (the only exception being Tarantino movies). I will admit, I have seen worse flicks than “Noelle.” I did enjoy many aspects of the film. I just thought there were too many different subplots to keep track of. One of the subplots focuses on a private detective and his son. The private detective was hired by Noelle to find her brother in Phoenix, Ariz. with $150 worth of stuff a store owner just gave her. The detective and his son are just trying to repair their relationship after the divorce.
Finally, I never would have expected Kendrick and Hader to be in a children’s movie.
“Noelle” is available on Disney+.

The subplots give context to Santa Noelle’s heart/worldview that Christmas is about getting presents and about helping people love other people.
My Noelle 2 pitch is Santa & Cupid’s professional mutual respect for each other turns to love when a cosmic event threatens the mass extinction of imagination.
