Top Ten TikTok Sounds
Let's be honest, none of us thought we would enjoy TikTok this much.
October 28, 2019
Some students enjoy thinking creatively and making their own TikToks while others find humor in just scrolling through the app. On top of this, I know many people who don’t have TikTok downloaded on their phone, but still understand every reference purely based on what people post on their Snapchat stories.
Every once and awhile, a specific sound on TikTok becomes so popular that it fills my entire feed. Here is a list of what I have found to be the most funny and binge-worthy TikTok sounds.
10. Moskau Remix
At first glance, you probably have no idea what this sound is, but I guarantee you have heard once or twice. This song really peaked during the Area 51 raid era. The remix flooded my feed with memes of people busting down the gates of Area 51 and aliens dancing all over the place. Although, each time I heard it, I laughed.
9. “Praying” by Kesha
As someone who is known for being very loud, and having a very loud family, this sound really just makes me laugh. I don’t know what it is about someone screaming, but I chuckle every time. Some of my favorite captions on this sound include, “VSCO girls when they forget their metal straw,” “my mom riding in my car while I turn a corner,” and “second graders at recess when a bee flies by.”
8. “hahaha i do that”
You can never go wrong with a classic Vine reference. Mix this with a bop and relatable content and you’ve got yourself a viral TikTok sound. This sound has an incredible array of meme opportunities ranging from procrastinating homework to kicking ice under the fridge. I enjoy the many different audiences that can relate to the sound, and how realistic the TikToks are.
7. “ELEVEN”
This sound is an absolute classic. It combines a bop–“The One That Got Away” by Katy Perry–with lines from “Stranger Things” to create a masterpiece. Considering how sad the scene where the sound roots from actually is, the memes that have come out of it are really funny.
6. “wow, didn’t know it did that”
Every time I hear this sound, the only thing that comes to mind is the caption “when the McDonald’s ice cream machine is actually working.” Just like some of the others included in this story, this sound can be made into many different memes with many different audiences. Everyone can relate to it.
5. “I know exactly what I want and who I want to be”
This sound has been blowing up on TikTok recently. Featuring the song “Oh no!” by Marina and the Diamonds, TikToks created with this sound are full of nostalgia and humor. Some examples include nods to spiky earrings, blonde highlights, and questionable interior designs.
4. “Heeeey! Heeeey. What?”
Claiming the number four spot is another throwback to the Area 51 raid era. In August, this sound captivated the pure emotion of being shocked. Some iconic captions on this sound covered the topics of assassinated presidents and being in a coma.
3. Whirlpool Filter + high pitch noise
This sound would be nothing without the filter, but when the TikTok is distorted and curving all over the place, I lose my marbles laughing. Although this sound is usually paired with someone bending their back and waving their hand, my favorite caption is definitely “the wheel on your grocery cart that won’t stop squeaking.”
2. “I don’t know who this man is.”
Please, please, please look this sound up. It is not very popular, but it is so funny. There are a ton of different captions that fit with this sound and every single one of them makes me laugh. The sound originates from an interview with actress Keke Palmer.
1. “What is going on inside their head?”
When people use this sound and add a montage of their best friend acting ridiculous, it is hilarious, especially if it is someone you know. Junior Olivia Engler made a TikTok to this sound and I have watched it over 100 times. It never stops being funny. I encourage everyone to round up some of your best Snapchat memories and try recreating this TikTok.
