Camryn Church
Camryn Church, a junior at Atlantic High School, said that she joined journalism because she didn’t really know much about it and wanted to learn more about it. She also wanted to have more classes with journalism and English teacher Allison Berryhill she also likes to write stories.  Church said that she is happy she joined and her favorite part about it is being able to talk to different people, learn new things when writing stories as well as being able to spread the news that people might not know about. She said that her favorite story to write was about vaping in schools. She liked it because she got to talk to AHS principal Heather McKay and a lot of different people about it. She enjoyed being able to hear different opinions on the matter. When Church isn’t writing for the Needle or doing homework she enjoys acting, singing, hanging out with friends and taking naps. After high school, she wants to go to college. She is unsure of what she wants to major in but said, “I know journalism will help me with any job field I go into.” Church said that the most important thing she has learned so far in journalism is that, “ You have to be able to work with others and hold yourself and others accountable to get stuff done.”
