The freshman and JV Trojann basketball teams have started off well, but after three games, varsity has yet to achieve a win.
After a slow start at Abraham Lincoln, the varsity girls picked up the pace, but still dropped their opener 37- 65.
The Carroll game also resulted in a loss of 39-48. The Trojanns started off and ended well, outscoring the Tigers in the first and fourth quarters. During the second and third quarters, however, the Tigers took control.
The Trojanns took another tumble from a Tigers team when they fell 29-55 to ADM on Tuesday Nov. 27. Senior Shelby Worth has been the top scorer for all three games, tallying 12,10, and 9 points respectively.
Meghan Reilly, a freshman, said the ninth-grade team is off to a good start. “So far we have been working hard. But there is a lot of room for improvement.”
Junior Kristin Johnk said, “We have a lot of talent, so hopefully we can use that talent this year.” Johnk looks forward to the upcoming games, “It will show off what we have been working on.”
The Trojanns’ next game is at home tomorrow (Friday) against Glenwood. The freshman game starts at 4:30, followed by JV, and varsity at 7:30.
