AHS students and teachers are ready for the big game between Nebraska and Iowa this Friday. Teacher Shiela Hayden is a Nebraska fan and said, “I don’t think that it will be a huge blow out. It will be closer than we all think.” She thinks there will be a lot of red in the stadium.
Senior Sam Markham, who also is a Nebraska fan, said, “Nebraska is going to win. Go big red!”
On the other side of the field, teacher Trace Petersen, a Hawk fan, says his team is “not living up to my expectations.” He admits, “Nebraska will win.” When asked what a “true” hawk fan was, he pointed to himself.
Teacher Dan Vargenson, another Hawk fan, said, “They are the biggest disappointment of my life.” He thinks that Iowa will get stomped. He defined a “true” fan as a person who still cheers for the team as they lose. “I will still wear my jersey, but I have a feeling it’s not going to be a good game.”
