Congratulations to the following athletes who participated in Special Olympic District Bowling on Friday, October 5:   Nick Dankert, 3rd; Cassi Gregory, 5th; Jason Honke, 3rd; Sierra Klinghammer, 7th; Lauren McCance, 4th; Colton Nachtman, 4th.

Two AHS students earned third-place ribbons at Special Olympics bowling competition on Friday, Oct. 6.  Nick Dankert and Jason Honke place third out of their groups.  All athletes played two games of bowling and their scores were averaged for their final places.

Lauren McCance and Colton Nachtmann both finished with fourth place. Cassi Gregory earned 5th, and Sierra Klinghammer came in with 7th place. The athletes earned ribbons according to their ranks.

Lauren McCance was “really excited, but a little nervous” while she was bowling.  McCance said when she practiced she got a lot of strikes.  McCance was proud and teacher Bev Shelling said McCance  “really loves her ribbon because she knows she did her best.”  McCance has a collection of ribbons and medals that she keeps “together and safe.”

Colton Nachtman was “excited when I got pins down” and not even a little nervous.  He says he practiced two weeks before the event and throughout the year.  Nachtman said he really likes his ribbon and hung it up  when he got home.
