Football fans wore pink on Friday, Oct. 12, when the Trojans battled the Harlan Cyclones.
According to Alexi Allen, AHS football cheerleader, the cheerleaders sold t-shirts for $12 and will give the profit to the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
The pink t-shirts say “More than a Ribbon, It’s a Mission” on the front. The cheerleaders also sold tattoos featuring a pink ribbon. These were available from the cheerleaders or at the game for $1.
According to Allen, the shirts arrived on Wednesday and were passed out on Thursday, Oct. 11, and after school or on Friday before school. Some of the smaller shirts weren’t here until 1 p.m. on Thursday.
Senior Seth Rohde, whose grandmother died of breast cancer, wore pink to the pink out game. On Wednesday, Oct. 10, 2012 he got pink yarn braided in his hair in support. Junior Debora Lwilla wove the braids for Rohde.
