Physical education classes dance the hour away

By Acacia Wilson, Stormy Christensen, and Allyiah Jacobsen

An AHS senior and his mother are educating students on how to line dance in physical education classes.

Freshman Lileigh Brown concentrates as senior Jake Auerbach teaches her the waltz.

AHS’s Jake Auerbach and his mother, Pam Auerbach, have volunteered to teach the students at AHS the steps to line dancing during the classes in physical education.

Auerbachs started teaching the steps to many different dances on Oct. 1, and will be finished teaching sometime this week. The dancing has been taking place just outside of AHS in the multipurpose room. The Auerbachs are walking the students step by step through the moves hoping it will give students new ways to dance at school dances.

AHS senior, Kray Lukehart, named the waltz as his favorite dance that the Auerbachs are teaching. All students asked said they would enjoy having dancing as part of the AHS physical education curriculum.

Pam Auerbach stated that her favorite dance to teach is the waltz and said that she just wants to see the students up and moving on the dance floor, enjoying themselves.
