The Trojans upset the undefeated ADM tigers on Friday, Sept. 28, for Atlantic’s Homecoming. The Trojans led the whole game until the fourth quarter when the Tigers shot ahead 27-20.
The Trojans then had the ball at the one yard line and had to travel 99 yards for the touchdown, bringing the score to 26-27.
Rather than going for kick, the Trojans kept their senior quarterback on the field to go for the two-point conversion. Center Jordan Mauk snapped the ball to Harrison Hoegh, who then passed it to senior WR Sam Markham for the score to pull ahead 28-27.
In the final minutes of the game, ADM took the ball into Trojan territory, but missed a field-goal attempt with nine seconds left on the clock. Hoegh took a knee, securing a Trojan victory and upending ADM’s perfect season.
