Extra bodies in the hallways?

By Josh Schorle

Students in Bryan Woods’ second-period anatomy class have left their mark on the halls of AHS. Life-size human forms showing the skeletal system of the human body appeared on the walls during second period Friday, Aug. 31. Woods, the new anatomy and biology teacher, wants the students to notice “all the different bone sizes and shapes and how important [our bones] are.”

Woods said he thought all his students did well on the project, but he mentioned that seniors Scott Caslow, McKenzie Holmes and Ben Nelson did especially well with the project.

Woods said he found the activity online. The students said they learned about the axial & appendicular skeletons, where the parts are on the body, and how to draw them to scale. Senior Sam Bateman said the activity “was all right, but it took three days to do.” Senior McKenzie Holmes said, “It was a great time. All the student got into it.”

Junior Monica Witzman commented saying the posters reminded her of seventh-grade when she and her classmates did something similar in Mr. Grugan’s class, drawing the digestive system.
