The Atlantic boys’ track team finished second at the Hawkeye 10 North division track meet Tuesday, March 27 at Iowa Western Community College in Council Bluffs.

The Trojans had six first place finishes.

Blake Esbeck took home the crown in the open 400 and the open 800.

Tyler Hovey placed first in the shot put and the discus.

Sam Markham finished first for the long jump.

The 4×200 meter relay team consisting of sophomore Tye Nielsen, seniors Ryan McDermott and Ethan Westering, and junior Sam Markham also placed first.

The boys took home three second-place finishes, as well as two third-place finishes.

The Atlantic girls’ track team also placed second at the Girls’ Hawkeye 10 North division track meet Tuesday, March 27 held in Harlan.

Senior Ali Krogman took home first place in the 3000 meter race as well as the 1500 meter race.

Senior Melanie Nielsen placed first in the 400 meter dash.

The 4×100 shuttle hurdle relay also placed first at the North division meet. The team consisted of seniors Amanda Gude, Paige Kennon, Sam McConnell, and junior Mackenzie Holmes.

The Trojanns also had two second place finishes.

The 4×800 meter relay consisting of freshman Allie Siggins, Brienna Steffens, Savannah Sorensen, and sophomore Lauren Krogman placed second at Harlan.

The Distance medley team of sophomore Kristin Johnk, freshman Erin Shannon, and seniors Amanda Gude and Sam Peterson also took second.
