This is Part III of a multi-part story exploring the Cass County Educational Opportunity Center (CCEOC).
Bryce Gehling, 16, is sophomore who has been at the CCEOC for five weeks. Gehling said, “It was different at first, much more quiet. At the high school, I didn’t get my work done. Here, I listen to my music and get my work done quick–and I mean quick.”
Gehling had positive things to say about his move from the high school. “Coming to the CCEOC, I had the mindset that I had to get my work done. It gives me an opportunity to succeed, graduate, and move on to greater things such as college or a full time job.”
Gehling described the working conditions at the CCEOC. “Although we only work in one room, it’s easier to get work done, but class time feels much longer.” Gehling plans on finishing school at the EOC alongside his fellow classmate, Austin VanAernam.
