Students ACT up!

By Liz Guttenfelder

There are two ACT test dates left before the end of the 2011-2012 school year.  The two upcoming dates are April 14 and June 9.

The deadline and the late-fee deadline have both passed for the April test date.  However, students can still walk in on April 14 and test if there is room.

According to the ACT website, the other test date before the end of the school year will take place on June 9.  The deadline for registration is May 4 with late-fee registration taking place between May 5-18.  Registration may be done online or by stopping into the guidance office.

An ACT Preparation booklet can be picked up in the guidance office.  According to the official ACT website, the booklet contains full-length practice tests, information about the optional writing test, strategies to prepare for the test, and what to expect on test day.  There are also practice tests available on the ACT website.

Junior Ben Nelson said, “I just did the [preparation] booklet but I don’t think it helped.”

Junior Dalton Franken commented about the test saying, “It’s time consuming but easier than I thought it would be.”
