AHS hosts State Show Choir

By Josh Schorle

AHS will be hosting State Show Choir contest starting shortly after noon on Monday, Jan. 30. Choirs from 16 schools will be arriving to perform on the AHS stage for a rating.

AHS classes will continue as usual, although some classrooms will affected. Since the school won’t be able to use the bells during the day, teachers will watch the clock and dismiss when it’s time.

All afternoon study halls will meet in the media center instead of the commons.  Some of the larger study halls will split up and be sent to classrooms.

Admission to this event is $5 per adult and $2 per student. Student activity passes won’t be accepted for entry because this is a state-sponsored event.

Competing schools will be housed in the gym and in other class rooms after the end of the school day.

The freshman girls’ group, Treble Makers,  will be dismissed from their classes at 3 p.m.  to prepare for their 4:14 p.m. performance. Diversity will be performing at 6:26 p.m. and Premiere will perform at 8:04 p.m.

If you would like to help with different areas of this event, speak to Mr. Johnson in Room 120 on Monday morning.
