Trojans unable to claim fourth straight John J. Harris crown

The Atlantic Trojans fell 12.5 points short of the Creston Panthers this past weekend at the John J. Harris Wrestling tournament.

Atlantic was seeking to become the first team to win four-straight championships in the 57-year history of the invitational.

The Panthers finished with 216 points while the Trojans finished with 203.5 points.

The Winterset Huskies finished in third place with 136 points, well behind the Trojans and Panthers.

Atlantic had 10 wrestlers finish in the top six of their respected weight classes.

The Trojans pulled had four wrestlers in championship matches, but only senior Derek Stork was able to come home a champion for the Trojans.

Stork needed three overtimes to defeat Trevor Frain 7-5 in the 160 pound championship.

Atlantic was defeated in two championship matches by the Panthers, pushing Creston towards their tournament championship.

Tyler Doll was pinned by Keaton Hullet at 195, while Austin Conrad was defeated 9-2 by Collin Bevins at 285.

Rob Young finished second at 132, Dillion Cox placed third at 113, Reid Nichols placed third at 120, Rob Nichols placed third at 145, Matt Williamson finished fourth at 170, Tyler Stork placed sixth at 182, and Tyler Christensen placed fifth at 220.
