The Trojan wrestlers easily defeated the Clarinda Cardinals with a score of 57 – 18 Thursday night, however the Trojans had a tough loss against the Creston Panthers with a score of 24-40.
Highlights of the Clarinda dual included pins by Rob Young at 132 pounds, Rob Nichols at 152, Derek Stork at 170, Matthew Williamson at 182, Tyler Stork at 195, Tyler Christensen at 220, and Austin Conrad at 285.
The fastest pins of the night were Derek Stork and Austin Conrad. Stork pinned Christian Lauritsen from Clarinda in 28 seconds. Conrad pinned Dakota Calfee from Clarinda in 11 seconds.
AHS sophomore 113-pounder Dillion Cox commented on the teams’ performance, “I think our heavier weights could have done a little better, but I think our lighter weights stepped up and took the challenge. Senior Derek Stork (170) summed up his feelings about the Creston dual with one word: “bad.”
The Trojans next meet is the Riverside Tournament, Saturday, Dec. 10.
