The Trojanns traveled to Adel to take on the ADM Tigers on Tuesday night. ADM defeated the Trojanns 64-62. Atlantic led for a good portion of the game, but let the game slip away in the final seconds.
With the loss, Atlantic is still searching for their first win of the season.
The Tigers tied the game at 62 with less than 40 seconds left, before forcing a Trojann turnover.
ADM went down and hit two free throws on their next possession to take the lead.
Junior Shelby Worth had a chance to win the game in the final seconds, but her three-point field goal attempt fell short at the buzzer.
This was the second game of the season the Trojanns lost in the final possessions.
“It needs to start in practice during our situations. We need to start taking things more seriously,” junior Mackenzie Holmes said, in order for the team to pull out the close victories.
Atlantic travels to Glenwood on Friday for the first Hawkeye 10 conference game of the season.
