The Atlantic Trojann volleyball team found themselves fighting to even keep it close, all night. The Trojanns looked sluggish from the start; eventually losing 3-0 to the Harlan Cyclones (13-25, 11-25, 12-25).
“There is not much to say about tonight’s match. We played flat and tired and just could not get anything going. We hope to bounce back and look to play better Saturday at Knoxville. I hope when we play them again in the regional tournament, we will play our game,” coach Chris Jahnke said after the game.
In game one, the Cyclones jumped out to a 4-0 start, making the Trojanns fight from behind. After the Cyclones got up 10-4, coach Jahnke called his troops over to re-group, hoping to set a spark in the Trojanns step. The timeout seemed insufficient, as the Trojanns sat on their heels, and the Cyclones closed out game one.
Games two and three replicated the first. The Cyclones got ahead early and the Trojanns were unable to get out of the hole.
The Trojanns travel to Knoxville for a tournament on Saturday, Oct. 15.
