The Atlantic boys golf team  hosted the sectional golf meet Friday, May 13.  The top two teams at sectionals advance to the district round. The Trojans came up short by five strokes. The Trojans finished in a tie for third behind Creston and ADM. “I’m disappointed that we did not move on as a team,” coach Ed Den Beste said.  Senior Matt Thielen shot a 75, good enough for first place indivdually at the sectional.  “(It is) great to see Matt Thielen shoot a great round. Hopefully he can repeat this at Adel and move on,” Den Beste noted.

Thielen will represent the Trojans in Adel Friday, May 20 for 3A districts. If Thielen can place at districts he will represent AHS at the state golf meet Memorial Day weekend.
