Cleaning up Prom!

By Paul Honke
Taking down the prom decorations is more relaxing then putting them up. At Atlantic High School around 5:20 a.m. the juniors who were in charge of putting up prom decorations spent a good half hour cleaning up the decorations.

Decorations such as the aquarium, the voodoo shop, and the swamp were taken down after prom had ended. Only the Mardi gras shop had to be taken down later because the wood belonged to a student’s father.

Putting up the decorations began last Thursday from 4 to 9 p.m. and ended on Friday after taking up the whole day. Since it took such a long time putting them up, it was a relief to many students that the decorations were taken down rather quickly. Probably the hardest part of cleaning up is taking down the wooden decorations nail by nail, screw by screw, as well as sweeping up the trash.

When asked how picking up the decorations at prom was, junior Ethan Westering gave this remark: “It was very, very, very fatiguing.”

“It went very well, a lot of kids showed up, and it worked rather well.” Says Pat Wiederien.
