Are you hungry for a spicy dish that will chase away the oncoming cold? Look no further than the Atlantic High School Choir Chili Cook-Off, hosted in the commons of AHS on Nov. 10, 2018, from 5 – 7:30 pm. The cook-off will feature nine contestants, as well as a bake sale and karaoke.

Tickets cost $5 and will be sold at the door. Community members will walk around and try each contestant’s chili, which will be served in 4 oz. cups, before placing their votes on whose they think is the best.

This year the contestants aren’t just people, but also companies. The contestants are as follows Lindeman Tractor, Knight of Columbus, Brown Shoe Fit Co., AHS Archery, Ryan Smith, Chad Oliver, Sherry Kramer, Steve Hayward, and Rachelle McCalla.

This will be the second annual cook-off that the choir has hosted, with all funds going towards the 2020 music trip to Florida. Choir Director Jennifer Gaesser and outside help Joyce Wieser and Jenny Andersen have put everything together. Gasser has considered entering the contest herself. “I thought about it this year but we had enough contestants.” She said her chili “would be too hot.”
