Iowa City Through the Eyes of Kayla Mauk

Not only is this building part of the University of Iowa, it’s famous too! This building was used on the 1994 hit television show “Friends.” It is now used as a financial aid office.
This man walks across the railroad as he goes on about day. The cold weather did not stop from taking a walk across the eye-catching Iowa City. He checked out the rushing river as he walked past the tracks.
Spanning the rushing river, the railroad tracks wait for a train to pass through. The rusted metal tracks were creaking as the wind blew through the wooden rail ties. The river seemed to never quit brushing against the tracks.
People in Iowa City are standing up for equal rights with the emotion of graffiti. The colored hands represented the diversity of people finally united as one. Gay rights were represented in the artwork with a rainbow fist.
Someone abandons their bike underneath railroad tracks. The bike had a flat tire so it was left under a bridge. The bike sat there for a few days before it was picked up again.
Two moms and sons cross the street. The boys latched onto their parents’ hands and looked both ways, then crossed the busy intersection.
As the motorcyclist sees the stop sign is red, he slows down. He then pulled out his phone and waited for the light to turn green. When it turned green he paused, put his phone back in his pocket, and rode away.
