Ten full-sized tractors and four pedal tractors paraded to the high school from Wal-Mart at 7:30 a.m. on Friday, March 10.

The annual National FFA Week event of driving tractors to school was originally scheduled for Feb. 24. However, the event was postponed when school was cancelled for inclement weather.

Nathan Behrends’ second year of driving one of the larger tractors of the day, pulled up in a 2006 TG215 New Holland. Behrends said the drive took him 30-35 minutes to get to school, compared to the usual 15 minutes it takes him to drive the 14 miles from his house.

REMEMBER WHEN – Pedal tractors are lovingly parked on the grass near the front lot. FFA members enjoyed sharing their childhood vehicles.
MAKE NEW FRIENDS, BUT KEEP THE OLD – Tractors from several decades line the lot.
ALL SHAPES AND SIZES – Tractors of various makes and models parade to the school from Wal-Mart.

“FFA Tractor Day is a way for our members to show off the machines that are used to feed the world.  This year we have nine tractor’s worth about $1.5 million dollars,” FFA Advisor Eric Miller said.

“Tractor day is one of my favorite activities because we get to parade them to school and around town after school.  It is also a great way for us to be able to show off what we are really proud of,” Junior Cale Pellett said.

“I brought my pedal tractor to school on tractor day and I did so because it is a fun and creative way for me to participate,” Senior Lexi Freund said.
