Maximilian Elwood has been involved in a lot of extra curricular activities, including golf, choir, speech and debate, the school play, the school musical, a mascot, soccer, Student Council and AHS Fuel. “The process for auditioning for All-State was probably my favorite,” Elwood said. He is proud he was able to participate in all of these activities. “I plan to go to Iowa, then transfer out of state. I’m looking to get a degree in acting or vocal performance,” Elwood said.

Elwood has a lot of great memories in the high school, but he greatly expressed that his most cherished memory is in All-State, “having my quartet make it out right. No one’s ever done that before in Atlantic, so I thought it was a big deal. We haven’t had anything close to that.”

Elwood stresses how important friends and family are to him. He lives with his mother, Pamela Elwood and father, Randy Elwood, who moved to the USA from Hamburg, Germany right after he was born. Elwood has two cats, Naughty and Fatty Cat, and two dogs, Bear and Sadie. “I consider my animals family,” Elwood said.

Elwood has had many friends, peers and faculty that have made an impact on him. “I will be happy to be out of high school, but I’ll miss the people I grew up with and went to school with,” Elwood said.
