SARAH SCHORLE

What events did you perform on Saturday and what were their ratings?

“I performed in After Dinner which received a mixed one and original oratory which received straight ones.”

Which event will you be performing at Allstate?

“Original Oratory.”

How did you feel when they announced who were accepted into All-State?

“I couldn’t believe it. I never thought I would make it non performing, let alone performing. I kept looking up at the board because I thought maybe I had looked at it wrong. Bekah and I hugged for so long; we’ve both been really yearning for that All-State title and it feels so rewarding to do it together.”

Is this your first year going to All-State?

“This is my first time being an all-stater. I watched groups from our speech team at the All State festival in the past.”

What is one of your goals for All-State when you go?

“If we brought home a banner, that would be a dream come true, but really, I just want to learn from other people in my category, specifically after dinner, so I can improve for next year. I actually got my idea for my original oratory while at the individual All-State festival last year.”

Junior Rebekah Hallman

What events did you perform on Saturday and what were their ratings?

“I performed in one event at State and it made All State.”

Which event will you be performing at Allstate?

“At All State I will be performing a mashup of two Poems and the piece is called “One of THOSE Poems.”

How did you feel when they announced who were accepted into All-State?

“I honestly started tearing up when I saw that Sarah Schorle made it because she put so much work and time into her Original Oratory.  It truly was a beautifully written piece and it was so wonderful that she got the recognition she deserved.  Also, I was obviously super excited that I made it and was in a little bit of disbelief if I’m completely honest.  I had to keep looking at the results to make sure my name was actually up there!  I’m so thankful I was accepted and am excited to see who all makes it next year!”

Is this your first year going to All-State?

“I have made it to All State for Band and for Large Group Speech, but this is my first year making it in Individual Speech.”

What is one of your goals for All-State when you go?

“One of my goals is to see as many acting and musical theater pieces as possible, along with any improv I can squeeze in.  Seeing all the talent is by far one of the best parts of making it to All State.”
