The last of three interviews for the new Atlantic superintendent was held on Wednesday, March 1. Daniel John Diercks, current superintendent in the Oelwein district, said it would be exciting to be part of the Atlantic district.

Diercks also said that he makes every decision based on what is “just, right, and fair.” He described himself as a lifelong learner who wants to be involved in academics and activities. He also said Atlantic is the “jewel” of southwest Iowa.
