It’s a Spy’s Life, Part 2

It's a Spy's Life - by Liz Davidson

It’s a Spy’s Life

By: Liz Davidson

This a chapter-by-chapter story about a 16-year-old spy, Angela Darkmoon, as she finds her way in the mixed-up, topsy-turvy world she lives in.

Part Tw0

Angela tried to see ahead in the dark hallway.  Jasper was in behind her, Nate in front of her. Jasper, being taller than her, turned and smiled as he still wouldn’t let her see in front of him.

“What’s going on?” she whispered.

“They’re trying to open the door to the vault still. Oh, by the way, nice job with that door, Angel.”

“It was nothing. All I had to do was make sure it was so complicated and that there were so many locks that Jasper had to work for an hour to get it open.” She commented with a shrug. Jasper made an unintelligent noise behind her.

When they were in position to apprehend the criminals, Jasper smiled at Angela.

“Hey! Angel, wanna press the button on the wall behind you?” Nate asked, his voice coming from her receiver. The spy didn’t give any indicator that she had heard, expect that she turned and pushed the only button on the wall. Suddenly all the windows were covered with steel, as were all the doors and other possible escape routes the criminals could use. The lights kicked in as Angela jumped from her perch onto the ground.

“Well, well, well, what do we have here?” she asked.

“Looks like a couple of free-loafers who can’t do any of the hard stuff themselves,” Jasper retorted, jumping down bedside her. The criminals whirled and looked surprised.

“How….How did you get in here?!” the leader asked, Thom Thrieght.

“Aaaww! Not very polite now is he?” Angela commented, starting to clean her nails.

“Hey! I asked you a question!” Thrieght snapped.

“Oh! Touchy!” Angela stated with a sly smile. “I’m getting there.”

“But just to warn you, you won’t like her answer,” Nate told the criminals, folding his arms.

“Get there sooner!” Thrieght yelled.

“Man, he is rude.” Nate commented as he joined his co-workers on the ground.

“I know right,” Angela drawled as she turned to Nate. She looked back at Thrieght. The villain looked like he was ready to blow a top. “Anywho, we’re here to end your career.” With that being said, Angela and the two men launched into their attack.
