Mckenna DenBeste decided to do many things while she was in school, such as dance, choir, basketball and soccer. Den Beste was born to Stacey Hornung and Ed DenBeste with brothers Tate and Roth DenBeste. She was born in Mesa, Arizona and lived in Gold Canyon, Arizona. Before moving to  Villisca, Iowa, then coming to Atlantic.

DenBeste has been in many activities while in school; cheerleading for all four years of high school, golf for all four years,  basketball since 4th grade and choir/ show choir since 6th grade.

Denbeste believes that being a part of two different state champions is her proudest moment in high school. She said, “the memories in golf are funny and different.” Denbeste believes that she enjoys cheer more than golf, even though she went to state with golf. “I like the team, and I really just enjoy it,” DenBeste said.

“We will miss her willingness to get things done for the team and being so eager to teach others. And of course, her always smiling face,” said coach Julie Hansen about Denbeste in cheerleading.

DenBeste plans on going to Iowa University to become a speech pathologist. “I think it would be interesting to work with all kinds of people and help them,” DenBeste said.
