Yesterday, April 6, the boy’s and girl’s tennis teams took on the Kuemper Catholic Knights. The boys defeated the Knights 7-2, while the girls fell to the Knights 0-9.

In singles #1 sophomore Grant Podhajsky won 10-4, #2 sophomore Cooper McDermott won 10-3, #3 sophomore Kalob Flory lost 3-10, #4 junior Caleb Williams won 10-3, #5 sophomore Luke Hohenberger won 10-6, and #6 senior William Weppler won 10-8.

In doubles #1 Podhajsky and McDermott won 10-1, #2 Flory and Williams won 10-5, and #3 Hohenberger and Weppler lost 4-10.

On the girls side in singles, #1 junior Jena Brosam was defeated 6-8, #2 junior Olivia Davis lost 2-8, #3 sophomore Heather Freund lost 0-8, #4 junior Kyja Arnold lost 4-8, #5 junior Carly Westphalen lost 1-8, and #6 junior Alexis Boes lost 1-8.

In doubles #1 Brosam and Davis lost 0-8, #2 Freund and Arnold lost 1-8, and #3 Westphalen and Boes lost 3-8.

The Trojans next meet is tomorrow, April 7, at 4:30 against the Creston Panthers. The girls take on the Panthers at home, while the boys travel to Creston.
