On Saturday Feb. 13, the Trojan girls basketball team faced-off against the Clarinda Cardinals.

The Trojans outscored their opponent 59-31 in the match. Seniors Erin Olsen, Skye Thompson, and Tiffany Williams led the team tallying 12 points each. 9 of the first 13 points were scored by Thompson. McKenna Den Beste recorded 9 points, Stephanie Sandbothe scored 6, and Catherine Leonard had 4.

The Trojans were strong at the line, making 23 of 29 shots and shooting 79%. The girls posted 26 defensive rebounds and 6 offensive rebounds.
This is the girls basketball program’s first win in a regional game in eight years. The Trojans will advance to play Shenandoah on Wednesday Feb. 17 in Shenandoah. Tip-off is at 7 pm.
