The Trojans hosted the Denison-Schleswig Monarchs in the final regular season game of the year on Senior Night. The school honored this years seniors and their parents after the junior varsity game. The seniors honored were Tristen Benn, Derek Cook, Kyle Krueger, Nick Podhajsky, and Joey Walker.

The Trojans fought hard this game, taking on the number one team in the conference. The game was tight at the end of the first quarter, the score 16-16. The Trojans then were having some trouble putting the ball in the basket, and the Monarchs took a 6 point lead at the end of the first half, 37-31.

The Trojans did outscore the Monarchs 16-14 in third, and outscored them 17-16 in the fourth. The Trojans were just one possession away from tying the game, but sadly fell short, 64-61. It was a tough loss, but they played with pride and showed the Monarchs that the Trojans first win against them was no fluke.

Individually, once again, junior Ryan Hawkins records a double-double while leading the team in both rebounding and scoring with 21 points and 11 rebounds. Walker led the team in assists, dropping 5 dimes in last nights game. Benn and Podhajsky provided some solid minutes in last nights game combining a total 8 points and 5 rebounds. Junior Brendan Holmes may have not recorded any steals, but the stat sheet doesn’t show the amount of pressure he put on ball handlers and how many bad shots and bad passes he forced on account to his hustle and effort.

This isn’t the end for the Trojans though, as they play Monday night and also host districts. They will take on the Glenwood Rams. The Trojans have swept the current season series 2-0.

The Trojan Mob made a great addition in last nights game and were loud and proud. Trojan Mob members are encouraged to be even louder (if possible) in Monday nights game, too.
