The Trojans traveled to Carroll Monday night to face the Tigers, who were holding a strong 15-4 record. This team is known to be very athletic due to the fact that three of their starters are all-state football players. The Trojans were came into the gym as the underdogs, and fought the entire 32 minutes.

The start of the game was neck and neck, as the Trojans were leading at the end of the first, 11-10. The Trojans effort won them the second quarter as well, leading at the half, 25-18. The Tigers fired back to start off the second half cutting the lead to just one early in the third, but the Trojans kept on fighting. The Tigers eventually outscored the Trojans 17-16 at the end of the third with a score of 42-35. Keep in mind, the Tigers were averaging around 70 points a game before this one.

Despite the Trojans incredible effort, they fell to the Tigers, 52-58. Junior Ryan Hawkins contributed well for the team and was rewarded by his efforts recording a double-double as he scored 21 points, and put in work on the glass with 16 rebounds.

A key thing said in the basketball world is to have a short term memory, which is true because the Trojans have no time to dwell on this loss as they will take the Denison-Schleswig Monarchs on Thursday at home on Senior Night. The Trojans will be honoring this years seniors after the junior varsity game. The Trojans will be hoping to finish the regular season with a win against the conference leaders, and to improve their record to 13-8.
