The Trojan boys basketball team took on the Creston Panthers, which ended in a tough loss for the Trojans.

The Trojans took off to an early 14-6 lead at the end of the first quarter. The Panthers fought back and tied the game at half, 22-22.

The battle continued in the second half with the Panthers leading the Trojans, 32-37.

The first four minutes of the 3rd quarter and the final four minutes of the game are said to be the most important minutes of the game, which held true Saturday night when the game was tied with four minutes left. Sadly, the Panthers ending up sliding ahead in those minutes and won the game, 53-45.

The Trojans played hard Saturday night, out-rebounding the Panthers 32-18, but where the game may have been lost was putting the ball in the basket, with the Trojans shooting 33% and the Panthers shooting 51%.

The Trojans have no time to dwell on this loss because they travel to Clarinda to take on the Cardinals tomorrow. The Trojans defeated the Cardinals last time at home, 66-27. This time, possibly one of their best players, Jett Kettwick, is expected to be playing. The Trojans are currently 11-6, hoping to improve to 12-6 after the game in Clarinda. The Trojans will also be taking on the Treynor boys here in the Atlantic High School gym on Friday night.
