Another Victory for Trojan Boys Basketball

The Atlantic boys basketball team traveled to Red Oak High School Tuesday night to take on the Tigers. The Trojan junior varsity started off the night with an exciting victory, which included a dunk by junior Alec Hayes.

The Trojans started off the varsity battle against the Tigers with an exhilarating first quarter that included a two hand dunk by junior Ryan Hawkins. First quarter ended with a buzzer beating 3 pointer by senior Tristen Benn.

The Tigers fought back second quarter and at the end of the first half the Trojans were sitting at a six point lead, 34-28. The Trojans won the third quarter by 2 points, making it an 8 point lead, 49-41. The mighty Trojans finally finished the game taking down the Tigers in the fourth, 70-62.

Hawkins led the Trojans in points, dropping 21. Senior Joey Walker led the Trojans in dimes, dishing 6 assists against the Tigers in this victory. Sophomore Garrett Franken with the sticky hands also got 3 steals, along with 10 strong rebounds, 2 of those being offensive boards.

After this victory, the Trojans are now 2-0. Their next opponent will be the Creston Panthers, which are currently 3-0. The game will be held at Creston High School in Creston, Iowa.
