2014 “Trojan Throwback” Homecoming Parade (Pictures)

Atlantic’s volleyball team perches on hay bales. Each fall sport was represented in the parade.
Freshman Emily Schriener helps Atlantic swim team make their first appearance. The team incorporated a boat into their float.
Atlantic’s young Cub Scouts enjoyed having a float in the Homecoming parade. Businesses and clubs from the community also participated in the parade.
Athletic director Matt Alexander finishes off the homecoming parade in a unique way! Alexander borrowed his son, freshman Austin Alexander’s, moped and principal Heather McKay drove freshman Logan Templeton’s moped to finish off the parade.
Freshman Maddy Williams rides for the first time as a high schooler in the Homecoming parade. Williams rode on the freshman float.
Atlantic sophomores throw candy to the crowd on their class float. Spanish teacher Dan Vargason served as sponsor for the sophomore float.
Sophomore D-One made a statement in black and gold. The AHS fuel truck was covered in streamers to look like flames.
The seniors of this year finish off their last homecoming parade in a unique way. They chose pictures from their younger years and from their senior year to represent the “Trojan Throwback.”
Homecoming candidates seniors Skyler Svoboda and Allie Siggins ride in one of the convertibles in the parade. According to Student Council vice president Steph Freund eight or nine convertibles were used in the parade.
Atlantic’s superintendant Dr. Michael Amstein and school board president Kristy Pellett toss candy to the crowd. Amstein has been in the Atlantic School District for 5 years.
AHS band members junior Sidney Gifford, senior Monica Brewer, and sophomore Katie Darrow play songs the members have been working on to perform for football games and contests this year. Gifford, Brewer, and Darrow have been in band since middle school.
The AHS Color Guard leads the band for their performance in the parade. The color guard has a range of girls from freshman all the way up to a few seniors.
