1.  Why do baboons have no butt hair?

  • Their butts are callused and have no nerves, so it makes sitting more comfortable.  Also, the baboon with the reddest butt is the most dominant male.

2.  Why is there a hole in the center of a donut?

  • There are multiple stories of how the donut got it’s hole, but the most popular response is that a Dutch ship captain shoved a donut through a spoke in a ship’s wheel so he was able to steer with both hands.

3.  What is the true purpose of a Q-Tip?

  • A Q-Tip was originally produced for the removal of makeup or to touch up a manicure.  They can also be used on newborn babies because of their softness.

4.  Can blind people see their dreams?

  • Many researchers believe babies that are born blind do not develop visual imagery throughout their life.  Because of this, if they are blind their whole life, they will not see their dreams because they have nothing to relate to.

5.  Why aren’t the letters on the keyboard in alphabetical order?

  • The original key placement goes back to the manual typewriters.  The keys were originally placed in the most common letter usage, but the mechanical arms would get stuck together if words were typed too fast.  They keys were then placed apart to slow people down.

6.  Do penguins have knees?

  • Yes, penguins do have knees!  They penguins’ legs have a femur, knee, tibia and fibula.  The upper leg is covered by feathers and fat, so you will most likely not see their knees.

7.  Do the stars move?

  • The movement of stars we see is due to the motion and rotation of the Earth.  Stars stay in the same place, but seem to move across the sky.

8.  What do fish do in the winter?

  • Fish are cold blooded and have low metabolisms, which make it possible for them to live through the cold winter.  In most bodies of water, the temperature beneath the ice usually does not drop below 40 degrees.

9.  Why do we have eyebrows?

  • The purpose of eyebrows is to keep sweat and water out of our eyes.  The arch shape helps direct the liquid away from our eyes and to the side of our face.  They also make our face not look weird.

10.  Why is the American flag reversed on military uniforms?

  • This is because the blue portion of stars should always be in the highest position of honor.  When a person or a vehicle is moving forward, the stars should be facing the front and looking like the flag blows in the wind as you move.
