The boys golf team played Kuemper Tues. Apr. 8 at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club. The Trojans won with a final score of 155 and Kuemper 175. Both teams opened their season yesterday afternoon, in the windy but sunny weather. The boys go on to play Creston tomorrow, at the Pine Valley golf course in Creston. Creston won state last year and only graduated two seniors.
The girl’s golf team also battled the Kuemper Knights at the Municipal in Carroll. The top five players all tied so they had to go down to a sixth score, which Kuemper won. The girls have Creston home tomorrow at the Country Club.
The boys golf team graduated four seniors from last year but Evan Schuler, the number one varsity player is returning. Last year the boys made it to state and finished eighth, with an outstanding regular season record. Their average nine hole meet score was 151. The total score of a golf meet is the four lowest scores added together. The average 18 hole score for the boys was a 306.6. Out of the 11 meets the Trojans have five home meets, four of which are at the Atlantic Golf and Country Club and one is at Nishna Hills.
