Seniors Prepare for Graduation

Seniors+Prepare+for+Graduation

By Karly Monson

It has come time for seniors to decide on their class song, flower, motto, and colors.  Voting was held on Wed. Dec. 4 all day in the media center.

After voting, the seniors decided on their class colors being black, silver and aqua. The flower is a blue rose tipped in silver and the song is, You’re Gonna Miss This by Trace Adkins.  “Never doubt that a small group of committed people can change the world.  It is the only thing that ever has,” by Margaret Mead is the class quote.

Senior Landon Stark isn’t really worried about the senior selection.  He said that a lot of people are upset about it but he really doesn’t care.  Senior Lexi Allen said, “I like them but I feel the colors should be our school colors.”  Senior Hannah Jespersen said, “I liked all the other options better but its whatever.”

These senior selections will be used when the seniors graduate on May 18, 2014.

Hmmm… sounds familiar. Oh wait, that’s because this is essentially what happened last year. Each individual person has their own disagreements, i.e. don’t like the quote, or the song, or the colors and they wish it were this, or wish it were that. But ultimately, none of this truly matters. What is the likelihood you’ll remember anything on that list in ONE year? Answer: Not very. I don’t even remember what ours was 1/2 a year later without revisiting my senior year yearbook. Point is, just pick something creative and somewhat meaningful and don’t make this into a bigger deal than it needs to be.

    Signed,
A person who was fed up with all the disagreements last year.
