Students going to Costa Rica this June have began selling meat from Hy-Vee for their second fundraiser. The students will be selling the meat until the fundraiser ends on Dec. 6.
“Tripites”, as Spanish teacher Daniel Vargason calls students going on the trip, are selling the meat as well as working at Hy-Vee handing it out when it arrives. 40-50% of the money goes back to the students for their trip. The students are also going to be at Hy-Vee at the front entrance selling to customers.
Sophomore Tori Lovell commented on the upcoming fundraiser, “Dude, [the fundraiser] is gonna be dope. I think it’s a good idea.” Senior Valerie Watson said, “I feel like we’ll be able to make money and I feel like we’ll be bring people joy with the meat we sell because it will be so dang delicious!” Sophomore Nate Tanner is excited for the trip and said,“It’s gonna be fun.”
“Buy our meat!” Vargason said. Spanish Club President Junior Hannah McLean said, “You can help us go to Costa Rica and we will love you forever!” Checks are to be made out to Atlantic Community School District. Meat will not be delivered, and is to be picked up December 15 or December 22 at Hy-Vee from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. The Spanish Club hopes to see you there!
