During this school year and the past, students have expressed concerns about the condition of the Atlantic High School parking lot. Multiple potholes can be found on the west parking lot and there are parts of the curbs with chunks missing.
Atlantic Community School District Maintenance Director, Russ Peck said that the funding for the high school in past years has been between $20,000-$25,000. Budgets this year haven’t been made for major repairs due to the project at the middle school, but temporary repairs will be made later in the year. Henningsen Construction company will come to do quick cold patches over the potholes.
For now the parking lots will stay in the condition they are now, but come next school year, problems will be addressed.
