Atlantic High school will show their spectacular theater talent by premiering “Guys and Dolls.” Opening night is Friday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. There will also be a showing Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.. Everyone is encouraged to attend the musical and show their support! The cast has been diligently working outside of school, trying to make “Guys and Dolls” a memorable show for all.

Many people have had a helping hand in putting this show together. Mr.Bair, Mr.Smith, Ms.Weiderin, Ms.Gaessar and Mr.O’Donnell are some of the AHS faculty who have played a major role in the smooth running of the upcoming musical. Knowing that they worked this hard in putting an enjoyable show together, expectations are at an all time high! Ms Gaessar said, “I hope the kids have a good time and perform their best!” Junior Hannah Jespersen also added, “I think it’s really going to come together and be a really good show. There are a lot of talented kids!”

Preparing for a show this massive, takes a lot of time, but with practice comes perfection. Ms.Gaesser said, “I think everyone is prepared. We’ve got things to tweak the next few days but I think it will go well.” Jespersen thinks that some kids are more prepared than others.

Many students at AHS are excited to see how the musical goes due to past performances that have shown our musicals to be outstanding. With the many new additions to the cast and crew, everyone is expecting a great performance. When asked how he expects the musical to be, Mr.Bair said “I’m not sure if the musical will be good this year, I am not a professional when it comes to musicals, and I’m not sure what the cast has done to get prepared.”

Although there are some skeptics to whether or not the show will be ready in time, we urge all musical lovers to come see for themselves! This will be an exciting show about a love hate relationship with gambling, and a 14 year engagement. Will Nathan finally marry Adelaide? Come and find out yourself!
