AHS will host an assembly to honor heroes from the War on Terror during an assembly at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 19. “Remembering Our Fallen” is a photo display that tours North America to honor our military who have died from serious injuries during war since Sept. 11, 2001. Photos of Iowa soldiers who have lost their lives will be on display in the commons area, along the Media Center wall. Students and community members are encouraged to read and reflect on the photos and stories.

Junior Kristin Johnk said, “I thought it was really neat. They were more of a personalized story about each person.”

“They look so young,” said teacher Allison Berryhill, who got a sneak-peek at the display with journalism students on Monday.

Tuesday’s assembly will be held at 2 p.m. The AHS Barbershop Quartet will sing the National Anthem.
