Trojanns fall to St. Albert in last seconds

Final score, 41 Atlantic, 42 St. Albert.  The game was led by seniors Taylor Young and Jessi Arneson, juniors Paige Kennon, Alex Hartwig, and Sam Peterson.  The only time the Trojanns were not in the lead were in the first minutes of the the first quarter and  in the last few seconds of fourth quarter.

At the start of the game the Trojanns kept pressure on the St. Albert Falcons by keeping the score low at the end of the first half.  Arneson scored three three-point shots by the end of the first half.

In the third quarter, the Trojanns led with the score of 35-26.  The Trojanns maintained steady offense and defense to keep a nine point-lead on St. Albert.

At the start of the fourth quarter, the Trojanns were up 10 points.  However, with about three minutes to go left in the fourth, the Trojanns’ lead had thinned to four points.  With seconds to go, St. Albert scored to make the final decision of the game.  St. Albert won by one point with an ending score of  41-42.

Young lead the team with a high of 12 points for the night.   Arneson was right behind her with  11 points.  Coach Casey Pelzer said, “The girls had great effort, attitude, pace.  They played really well overall.”

The Trojanns next game will be Monday, Nov. 29 against Carroll here at AHS.
