Mr. AHS and Senior Survivor

By Meghan Plambeck

The AHS Student Souncil is working to revive competitions called Senior Survivor and Mr. AHS.

Mr. AHS was approved at the Jan. 5 Student Council meeting. The high school has held Senior Survivor and Mr. AHS before, and is working to restart the competitions to generate interest in the senior class.

MR. AHS

The Mr. AHS pageant will take place the week of TWIRP, which starts Feb. 25, and ends March 1.

The competition begins with an application process.  People would submit applications representing their different activities. For example, a person might be selected representing football, and another representing band. Ten people would be selected to represent their various activities, and the selected senior boys would then participate in a pageant. Types of activities in this may include a talent, fashion, question, and dance. The winner of the pageant would be crowned Mr. AHS.

SENIOR SURVIVOR

Senior Survivor is a competition where a seniors are selected by application and chosen to participate in a game based on the show “Survivor.” Students stay at the school for a week, and separate into two teams to complete different challenges. Sixteen students would be selected (8 boys and 8 girls). Each night, members are “voted off the island” by other members, and the last remaining person wins.

To apply, seniors would have to submit an application video to the student council explaining why they want to participate and why they would make a good member of the teams. They would also have to sign a contract saying that they will not use their phones, internet, or TV for the full week, unless granted permission.

Other grades get to participate in Senior Survivor as well. Each grade is in charge one night of the week, and will be responsible for selecting the challenges and cooking the meal for the survivors. The meal they cook can be intended to taste good, or to taste disgusting.

Senior survivor has not yet been approved.
