#JuniorProblems

By, Lisa Gearheart and Maren McNees
As juniors at Atlantic High School we all seem to think the same thing, “Can I please just graduate already? #JuniorProblems.” 2014 seems to be a multitude of years away and as senioritis approaches us quickly, we become melancholy and piles of rubbish. Homework seems to become less and less important and procrastination gets the best of us. Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and texting seem to overrule homework on the average day. ACT’s and PSAT’s make us want to go back to kindergarten and make our brains mush. The never ending nagging from our parents about our plans after high school drive us insane! Wondering where your free time went? Oh yeah, you are a junior now, free time is now non-existent. #JuniorProblems. A cat nap here and a food break there. We obviously have our priorities straight. Where art thou Friday?! We psych ourselves out over tests, only to realize that a hamster could have done better. Wanting to have an open class period like the seniors, just so we can sleep in a couple more hours. Papers that were assigned weeks ago, are just getting done the night before. Bink! Finals week is going to murder us! #JuniorProblems. We are lazy and don’t enjoy the “short” six minute jog in P.E. Sleep? What is sleep? I am afraid I am not familiar with that term. Please enlighten me. Oh, you are wondering why we don’t wake up early enough to make ourselves look presentable? WE DON’T CARE. Sunday night, we just want to lay around and relax until Hades starts again on Monday? You can’t. You saved all of your homework for Sunday night. Junior year is our most important year in high school, yet we lack all forms of motivation. #Truth. 40 flash cards later…we still don’t have it memorized. If math was non-existent, our lives would be easier. Duck Dynasty takes priority over everything. The only mail we receive is college mail, and majority of the time our names are spelled wrong. Friday night football is the only thing we look forward to in the fall. Weekends should be 5 days and school should be 2. We are juniors, give us a break. Can’t wait for winter break, 2 solid weeks of pure bliss! Although we will all be excited to come back to school for….oh wait, no we won’t. Junior year is our time to shine, too bad our bulbs are almost burnt out!
