English teacher Trudy Eblen’s American Lit class presented works by American authors on Wednesday, Nov. 10. The students read either a small portion of a prose piece or a poem. The program was called Abridged Romanticism. The intent was to give the audience a sense of the flavor of American writing during the romantic period. The students read works such as “Snow Bound,” “Self Reliance,” “The Tell Tale Heart,” and Mobey Dick. Some of the students dressed in costume for their poems. For example, Senior Toni Swanson and Austin Jonk dressed up in winter gear for their performance of “Snow Bound.”

I am so proud of how classes are giving to one another to see and to hear literature come to life. Thank you to all for their efforts.
